Flo: Lead Vocal Coach in Leeds
Flo has been teaching successfully for The Vocal Academy for quite some time and has built up a great student base. Lessons with her are proving very popular which has led to us receiving great reviews from students of all ages. Flo has been teaching for just over 6 years and started whilst she was still studying at Leeds Conservatoire studying Popular Music Performance.
Her ethos is that together you build upon what is already there; there is no reason to change something that is already as unique as you are. Together you will work on Warm Ups, Stamina, Musicality, Technique, Repertoire and anything else you are willing to set your mind to, as well as songs you love to sing!
Everything completely revolves around you; the songs you love and what you want to improve on.
Flo is also a trained Vocal Health First Aider, which means that she is able to identify vocal dysfunction and imbalance and has knowledge to help support someone towards vocal recovery.
Flo: "I love how much singing simultaneously removes us from the daily grind whilst also giving us skills that are transferable into each and every day. I love watching people grow in confidence and experimenting with their voice. To see people achieve what they never thought possible is a wonderful thing to experience together".
Sam:Vocal Coach in Leeds
Sam has been tutoring for almost 5 years, alongside her successful career as a singer-songwriter. Having graduated from Leeds Conservatoire in 2016 after completing her degree in Popular Music, she draws on a wealth of both practical and theoretical knowledge, equipping you with skills you can continue to apply to your practice for many years to come.
She will coach you in areas such as vocal health and technique, performance skills, music theory, creative thinking, artist development, and so much more. In her lessons, she empowers you to ‘make friends with your mistakes’, helping you to learn from each one and grow your confidence week by week. Sam can also offer guidance in artist development and songwriting, an area of specialty supported by 10+ years of live performance and industry experience.
Sam has also completed the BAST 20-hour singing teacher training course, equipping her with a wealth of in-depth knowledge on vocal health, technique, voice function, and more.
Sam: “Helping someone to find their voice is an amazing thing to be part of! I love to see my students take on new challenges as they grow in confidence, and prove to themselves week by week just how capable they are. Also, singing can be such an excellent way to aid wellness and build a sense of self-belief, and I love helping my students explore this.”
